Jan. 1, New Year’s Day Polar Bear Plunge
Come to swim, or just dip your big toe in the big blue… without turning blue. Share in the joy of the New Year and the warmth of good friends, fellow swimmers, and great potluck food (cider and coffee will be provided). Please bring your favorite chili (suggested), soup, and/or warm food to share as well. It’s also a good idea to bring warm clothes, hats, footwear, and a camera. This event is for La Jolla Cove Swim Club (LJCSC) members only; however, membership is just $20 a year.

San Diego Resolution Run

Resolve to begin 2018 in motion! The San Diego Resolution Run 5K/15K/HALF will have you racing through Mission Bay Park’s beautiful De Anza Cove and looping around Fiesta Island while keeping resolutions to stay fit, get outside, help the planet, and be social. Proceeds will benefit San Diego Roots Sustainable Food Project. Refer to website for registration.

Artist Reception
Meet the painters at this year’s 3•UP exhibition artist reception: Margaret Chiaro, David Jester, and Mikaela McLeish. In a culture where everyone has cell phones to document the human experience, how relevant is figurative painting in 2018? Does figurative art function as a mirror or does it maintain a deeper significance as it has in the past? Decide for yourself at this reception, or simply stop by for the exhibit, which will run from January 5th through the 28th. This is a free event.

San Diego Multi-Cultural Festival

The Festival will include a variety of entertainment from Native American, Asian, Cajun, Latin, Jazz, and Afro-Cuban bands. This is a

Honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at one of the largest celebrations of its kind in the U.S.! This parade is filled with dazzling floats, phenomenal high school bands, drill teams, colleges, fraternities, sororities, churches, and peace and youth organizations. This is a free event.

Ramona 5K Run/Walk
Jan. 20, Ramona 5K Run/Walk
Help the Ramona High School Track Team raise funds for a new auto timing system by taking part in this fun run! Registration fee includes a
T-shirt and an electronic numbered bib. The top 3 finishers will receive laser-cut awards with ribbons per division. Refer to website for registration.
